Obsidian Black Butterfly Necklace with Bronze Beads - Unique Handmade Jewelry for Women | Perfect for Gifts, Weddings & Special Occasions

When I saw, in mid-winter, these hand-carved butterflies, I had to have them. Because they are handmade, each is slightly different and has minor “imperfections.” While I first wanted to make a colorful necklace befitting spring, I changed my mind and then decided to make a monochromatic, more sophisticated design. To achieve that, I used mostly black beads but with different textures. For the chain, I used 6 mm. black lava beads and shiny Miyuki glass tubes from Japan in-between the non-shiny obsidian butterflies. For interest, I added bronze, textured glass beads as well as bronze seed beads. The necklace is 19 ½” long and ends with a complementary, half-inch square, ornate, bronze toggle. Each butterfly is approximately 35 mm. x 25 mm. (1 ½” x 1”) The necklace will arrive in an attractive organza bag.
